Mrs Dalloway is Virginia Woolf's novel about a day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway in post-World War I England. Mrs Dalloway remains one of Woolf's most well-known novels. The novel's plot is based on two short stories, Mrs Dalloway in Bond Street and the unfinished The Prime Minister, and follows Clarissa as she prepares for a party at which she will be the hostess. The novel's interior perspective travels forward and back in time, as well as in and out of the characters' minds, to create a complete picture of Clarissa's life and the inter-war social structure.
