Plato’s reflections on economics are deserving of more attention, as shown by this systematic examination of his key texts. This work elucidates the basic principles of Plato’s economics and his proposals for regulation, demonstrating an affinity between his thought and the theoretical reflections of modern economists on homo economicus and on the importance of cultural factors in the economic behavior of the individual.
