Сборник охватывает детальные описания языковых ситуаций разных республик Волго-Уральского региона и включает в себя следующие темы: этапы языковой политики, образовательные системы, СМИ и Интернет, общественные дискуссии o положении и преподавании государственных языков республик, а также вопросы сохранения языкового многообразия и аспекты языковых контактов. Что касается подходов и методов, то сборник охватывает в основном (социо)лингвистические аналитические описания разных республик Волго-Уральского региона. Данные описания языковых ситуаций Волго-Уральского региона обрамляются вступительной статьей, освещающей ключевое понятие данного сборника — языковую ситуацию — и двумя завершающими статьями, рассматривающими актуальные тенденции и стратегии языковой политики федерального центра. This volume presents a comprehensive description of the language situations in several republics in the Volga-Ural region, covering the following topics: developments in language politics; educational systems; the mass media and the internet; current discussions on the situation and teaching of state languages in the republics; and, finally, issues relating to the protection of language diversity and aspects of language contacts. The approaches and methods applied in the volume involve primarily (socio)linguistic analyses describing the language situations in the Volga-Ural region. The analyses of the language situations are framed by an introductory essay outlining the volume’s key concept – the language situation – while there are also two concluding essays exploring current tendencies and strategies in the language politics of the Federal centre. The book is written in cyrillic.
