»Between Exceptionalism and Expressing Sovereignty«: The thesis examines the security exception clause in international economic law. It analyses the dogmatic foundations, historical origins and susceptibility to abuse of the clause. In addition, the phenomenon of securitisation is examined as a political mechanism and in the form of legal design. Influenced by this, states adapt their design and behaviour (in dispute resolution).
