The e-book provides illustrated identification keys for all 8 genera, 31 subgenera and 280 species of osmiine bees known to occur in Europe by 2025. The keys are illustrated with approximately 1050 high-quality microphotographs. The book is intended to be a concise but reliable identification tool for one of Europe's most fascinating group of bees. It should contribute to improve our knowledge of the distribution of the osmiine bees at a local, regional and national scale, to fill in the countless gaps in our knowledge of the species’ nest-building behaviours, brood parasites and host-plant preferences, and to help in discovering still undescribed, overlooked or cryptic species.
